\"Indie-pop, folky-blues, jazzy rock \'n roll? It is very hard to pin down Train Company\'s unique sound, and if you\'ve heard of them, then you know that their buzz is quickly spreading from Chicago to all over the Midwest. Train Company started off in the small town bars of St. Charles in \'07 and has since managed to perform at Chicago clubs like The Double Door, Lasalle Power Co, and even a sold-out night at the Cubby Bear. Their music has been featured on 93.1 FM WXRT in Chicago, as well as several college radio stations all over the United States. For the winter of \'09-10, Train Company was on Platform One Entertainment\'s College Music Invasion with Kid Cudi, Landon Pigg, and Loomis & The Lust. Recently the group did some touring through neighboring states Wisconsin, Indiana, and Michigan. They are currently working on their follow up album to 2009\'s debut Train Company while performing regularly around Chicago.

When John, Rob, Mark, and Mike started Train Company back in 2007, they knew they had to start somewhere. Weddings, bars, house parties, nightclubs; any gig they could do, they played it. ‘When you start off in a small town like St. Charles, outside of the city (Chicago), you’ve really got to hustle to get your music around- no matter how good it is’, says John Zozzaro (Lead Vocals/Guitar). From the very first show, Train Company gained a following by turning unsuspecting bar goers into utterly fascinated fans. As word of \'a new bar band with killer original tunes\' started to get around and their crowds started to grow fast in numbers, it wasn\'t long before every bar and pub around town was trying to book them. With a steady helping of shows, the boys managed to scrounge up enough money to record their first album by late 2008.

The result was the self-released debut album Train Company. Upon release, Train Company established themselves in the Chicago music scene as a band that anyone could go out and enjoy, free from the isolating limitations of \'trendy\' scenes. Their unique take on classic pop with blues and jazz roots came off with a brilliantly refreshing zest and contrast to other contemporary releases of its kind. On the album, the vocals are confident, genuine and surprisingly crisp. From the swingin\' blues of \'Forest\' to the classic rock epic \'Clementine\', John Zozzaro displays a vocal talent well beyond his 22 years of age. In the beautifully jazzy tracks of \'She Will Roam\' and \'Winter\', Mark Alletag\'s saxophone sings with incredible depth and soul, and from top to bottom, the rhythm section swings and rocks with such authority and groove that you would swear these guys can\'t be in their early twenties. They even make use of Mark\'s multi-instrumental talents by incorporating flute and clarinet on tracks like \'Tell Me Your Name\' and the delightfully rag-timey \'Tree\'. All over the album the elements mesh perfectly to provide a classy introduction as Train Company\'s first studio effort. With that in mind, their choice to enlist HD Ready producer Patrick DeWitte was perfect. On the WTTW series Soundstage, DeWitte has worked with such artists as Norah Jones, B.B. King, John Fogerty, and Tom Petty.

In June of 2009, the self released album Train Company first appeared at shows being handed out for free on burned cds before it was formally pressed. It later became available on iTunes where it received rave reviews and a five star rating. A month later, Chicago\'s 93.1FM WXRT took notice and even began playing \"Do You Really Wanna Know?\" on-air. With radio airplay in support, the group played an electrifying sold-out night at Chicago\'s Cubby Bear in July \'09.

Now it\'s early 2010 and Train Company hasn\'t slowed down one bit. The sharply dressed small town natives have become one of the hottest underground acts in the Midwest. They are currently spinning on several college radio stations and constantly playing for a full-house where ever they set up. Another album is currently in the works with Producer Patrick DeWitte and new songs are already appearing at live shows. If you haven\'t already, this is DEFINITELY one band to check out and be on the lookout for in the future.\"
