Matt Connor and Roger Smit were playing at a benefit in Oswego. Charlie Flame was playing for a jazz band, and running sound. When it was Matt and Rogers turn to play, Charlie asked if he could jam until their drummer showed up. So they played for about 45 min. and then he gave them his phone number. Soon after, they got together to jam and Red Reserve was born. During the summer of 2008 they played a few shows around the Chicago Western Suburbs, including a battle of the bands where they placed third. In the fall of 2008 they met keyboardist / bass player Steve Robinson. After jamming in his basement, they invited him to join up with the band. After a short stint with the band Steve left to pursue other things and Tim Reboletti, a good friend of the band starting playing bass. A few months after that he started playing with the band and now Red Reserve is whole.
